In 2022 we saw several pool trends rise in popularity, and have installed many of these features in local builds.

Glass Waterline Tiles

Waterline tiles are a 6-inch band of tiles installed around the perimeter of the pool to help prevent pollen, sunscreen, body oils that enter the water from forming a scummy line on the plaster of the pool along the waterline. It is much easier to clean these substances off waterline tile than the plaster of the pool. These tiles can be made of a variety of materials, but in 2022, glass waterline tiles were the trend. Glass provides a luxurious finish with a variety of colors available. They reflect the sun and water and add a shimmery quality to the surface of the pool. Because of the visibility of the upper portion of the waterline, the waterline tile makes a large visual impact on the look of your pool.

Natural Stone Paver Deck

Natural stone pavers as options for pool decks exploded in 2022, and with good reason. There are many options that work with a variety of design styles, and many of the natural stones have qualities that make the surface naturally slip-proof or water repellent. Luxury options like travertine, limestone, flagstone, bluestone, slate, sandstone, or granite can upgrade the ambiance surrounding the pool. It can also provide a rustic contrast to shiny glass waterline tiles, grounding the design and making it appear much more cohesive.

Water Walls

Water walls are another luxury feature that has been trending in 2022. Water walls add a design opportunity for colorful glass tiles, or more traditional materials like brick or porcelain tiles. They also provide visual interest via a height variance along the surface of the pool, as well as the relaxing sound of water falling into the pool.

Water and Fire Bowls

Now these are something to see. Combining the opposing elements of water and fire, these features appear magical when swimming in the pool. A major trend in 2022, we have installed two versions: fire bowls, and water + fire bowls. Both provide incredible interest to the pool and are a major wow factor.
