Include Your Pool in the Halloween Party Fun

As the seasons change and the days get shorter we start to look forward to the holiday season. The kick off to the season starts with arguably the most fun holiday, definitely the spookiest-HALLOWEEN! With the weather cooling off, it may not be the best time to go for a swim. Unless you’re in South Louisiana and it’s 80 degrees in the middle of “Fall” but we digress. We’ve come up with a few ways to dress up your pool this Halloween, taking it from pool to ghoul.

1. Spooky creature trapped underwater- find some good ole surgical gloves, you know the ones sitting around your house. Put some glow sticks in the fingers and blow them up, toss in the pool and watch them glow under the water.

2. Skeleton pool guest– this one is too funny. Find your favorite rafts and that skeleton in your closet, stick them in the raft or poolside. Put them in a bathing suit, or set a drink next to them, maybe you have a few wigs around the house and you can give the skeleton a hairstyle. Have fun with it! This is sure to get a scare and a laugh out of your guests.

3. Smoke on the water- this is a great party trick. Turn your pool into a foggy abyss or a creepy misty lagoon with a fog machine. Check with your local party store- many of them rent out fog machines. Hide it somewhere around your pool to increase the mystery. If you have a Halloween inflatable, maybe place it where it looks like it’s coming out of the fog or lagoon to up the spooky factor.

4. Floating Pumpkins– this is an easy one. Buy some pumpkins, small or big and put them in the pool. They will float! Watch your kids and your guests be amazed by the fact that they don’t sink. Apparently it’s science- who knew? We suggest moving the pumpkins out of the water after the party to be sure they don’t rot in your swimming pool.

5. Who “dyed” in the swimming pool? -Want your pool to look blood red, or maybe witches brew green? Changing the color of your pool is relatively easy. There’s dyes like these that you can find on Amazon https://amzn.to/3QJxvoq. They don’t stain and are easy to use, but they will last a couple of days. If you’re looking to avoid the dyes, try these submersible colored LED lights https://bit.ly/3QPvJlB. With multiple colors you can change the color as your mood changes and there’s absolutely no mess at all.
